Batman Dark Knight the sequel to Batman Begins starring Christian Bale is back and better than ever. There are many changes this time in the sequel including of course most notable Rachel being played by Maggie Gyllenhaal instead of Katie Holmes. This change should be interesting to see how it plays out. But the change I want to examine is in the suit. The suit from Batman Begins is much different than the suit being used here in Batman Dark Knight. There are three opinions on the suit compared to the previous one. The first opinion is that people are still unhappy that the suit is not more traditional. Basically they wanted the suit to be more like the suit from the comics, featuring the gray tights look. The second opinion is that people mainly like the new look of armor, but they think to much is going on. They would like it to be much more simply and not as complicated. I can see the points of view from the first two opinions but for me personally I disagree.

The first opinion is that the comic book costume is good enough for the comics so it should be good enough for the movies. Batman Begins and Batman Dark Knight are unique comic book movies because they give off the persona that this could actually be happening. These movies give a realistic point of view of how someone could actually accomplish being Batman. In order for that realistic point of view to be maintained Batman would need a tough durable suit which gave him serious protection. Not some tights and a mask. If the comic book costume was used in the real world Batman would be killed in seconds facing psychopaths with automatic weapons. The first costume gives him that protection he needs and the costume from Batman Dark Knight is just an improvement on the first costume.

The second opinion that there is to much going on is actually debatable because it is really a matter of point of view and vision. If you gave ten designers and told them they needed to make a dark batman costume based on ninja origins and be durable and tough. You would probably get ten different designs. So the suit with its details is based upon the director and his tastes.

The third opinion is that the suit is a great extension of the first one and the changes are good improvements. The look and feel of the suit is prefect. The suit still gives the vibe of a ninja, but with the improvements in armor help protect Batman even more and the chain mail looks more durable and flexible. For the new suit in Batman Dark Knight I think the changes are needed but not overdone and I am very pleased with the suit.
